This area has some of the oldest history of climbing in Pennsylvania dating back to the 1950s. The rock is Weverton Quarzite and dries quickly after rain. The approach is under 5 minutes and you’ll find a good collection of boulders to play on. Cheese Grater can’t be missed and is located below the main wall along the approach trail.

Whiskey Springs offers some quality bouldering in a peaceful setting. It is one of the best areas for bouldering in Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. Located right along the Appalachian Trail it is a short and pleasant 10-minute walk from parking. The Vulture Area is found at the large roof formed by the enormous 35ft. boulder. You will find some highball routes that are mostly moderate.
