Falling an enormous 620 feet in two steps, Multnomah Falls is an easy walk to a majestic waterfall. This waterfall can be viewed at the base of both tiers and also on Benson Bridge directly above the second tier in the middle of the falls. For a bit longer hike, a viewpoint from the top is available. This is a popular destination for locals and a great way to show visitors one of the greatest waterfalls in Oregon. A stop at the 1925 lodge near the beginning of the trail will make the trip complete.

Nestled in an alpine wonderland, Ice Lake is a perfect mountain lake. This is a strenuous hike, but with a great reward. Ice Lake is filled with brook trout and offers many campgrounds along the shores, while providing a mirror reflection of the nearby Matterhorn. Mountain goats can often be spotted on nearby ridges and many other wildlife also call this refuge home.

This is a classic hike through the rugged Columbia Gorge. The trail starts along the creek but soon climbs well above it along a slope of cedars and mossy maples. It passes by several scenic waterfalls.

Only 7.5 miles away from majestic Mt Hood, the 63 acre Trillium Lake is popular for fishing, camping boating and photographing the beauty and reflection of nearby Mt Hood. The trail circles around the lake in its entirety and occasionally provides access to the water. Surrounding the lake is a thick conifer mix of trees and is part of the Mt Hood National Forest. The hike is very family friendly or for just an afternoon stroll.

Along the Columbia River Gorge near the Bonneville Dam is a beautiful trail that follows Tanner Creek through a canyon. This trail goes directly next to Munra Falls, a 40 foot falls that you can reach out and touch along the path. Kids love this falls, as it is so close to the trail. Continuing on, the end of the hike opens up to a clear view of Wahclella Falls, a two-tiered falls that drop a total of 350 feet into a pool that is surrounded by moss-covered rock walls.

A gorgeous short ride along the Pacific Ocean from Yaquina Head Lighthouse to Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. The ride goes through Newport on moderately busy roads with views of the ocean nearly the entire route. The lighthouses were both built within a year of each other, but are very different. Yaquina Head Lighthouse was built in 1872 and is a tower on a piece of headland jetting out into the ocean. Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is a house with a light display on top was built in 1871 and is the only historic wooden Oregon lighthouse still standing.

Started out on the glade trail from govy to the base of timberline lodge. From The Mile lift I followed trails and made my way up to the top of Palmer Lift where I hit snow and got to see the racers on the courses! Then I went down an alternative route, (lookers right of the ski lanes) and ran down the sandy ridge. At timberline I got water and charged up, then took the Timberline to Town Trail back home!

Lots of elevation gain and drops through the coastal range in Oregon. Heavily forested and snowy on the north side during winter and early spring time
