A gorgeous short ride along the Pacific Ocean from Yaquina Head Lighthouse to Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. The ride goes through Newport on moderately busy roads with views of the ocean nearly the entire route. The lighthouses were both built within a year of each other, but are very different. Yaquina Head Lighthouse was built in 1872 and is a tower on a piece of headland jetting out into the ocean. Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is a house with a light display on top was built in 1871 and is the only historic wooden Oregon lighthouse still standing.

A ride through the temperate rain forest of Silver Falls State Park is a breathtaking and enjoyable route. This trail is great for families, beginners or just an easy and fun ride. The bike path is paved and does not go by any of the waterfalls in the park, but it beautiful nonetheless and it travels through the dense forest where ferns cover the ground and moss covers the trees. Just a reminder that bicycles are not allowed on the Trail of Ten Falls.

Beginning in Hood River along the Old Columbia River Hwy, this route follows low traffic roads through the hills of east of the city to Panorama Point County Park. Panorama Point provides the best views of the Hood River Valley with views that also include Mt. Hood to the Columbia River Gorge. Park facilities and interpretive signs provide geological history of the Hood River Valley. In spring, the fruit trees in bloom throughout the orchards surrounding the park are a gorgeous sight.

If you're looking for a remote and peaceful ride through a canyon, then this route will fulfill your needds. This long outing starts in Cambridge, Idaho on State Highway 71, and the ride goes northwest to the state line near Brownlee Dam. There are limited services along the route, so you may need to camp or stay at the Gateway Cafe if you feel like you need the rest. You'll definitely enjoy the back country scenery and unique geology. Keep in mind that most of the highway has no shoulder width, so be very cautious.

Named as an Oregon Scenic Bikeway, McKenzie Hwy is only open to traffic summer - fall, but accessible for bikes in late spring. The road is an 1860's wagon route with gorgeous views circling around Mt. Washington, and of the Three Sisters and Broken Top. The pass is made up of section of ancient lava flow, with an observation stop at the top of the ride made out of lava with panoramic views of the mountains. The route also goes by beautiful mountain lakes and through dense forests, providing a vast difference of scenery along the ride. The ride can be started on either end.

The most popular countryside loop in Bend, the Twin Bridges Scenic Bikeway gets its name from crossing over two bridges that span the gorgeous Deschutes River. The ride begins and ends at beautiful Drake Park located in downtown Bend and has views along its entirety of the gorgeous Cascade Mountains as it rolls through the high desert terrain, among forests, along the river and by farmland and ranches. The route goes through the small town of Tumalo, which is a great place to take a break mid-way in the ride.
