Belleville Pond has one of the best inland marsh habitats in the whole state of Rhode Island. The water is shallow which is great for fishing and a lot of biological diversity. Flora that you may see on this paddle include cattail, red maple, oak, aspen, birch bulrush, pickerelweed, waterlily, duckweed and bladderwort. The habitat is also excellent for a variety of waterfowl including Canada goose, American coot, green-winged teal, wood duck, mallard and black duck. Other wildlife and fish you may encounter include painted turtles, perch, pickerel, bass and deer.

Wallum Lakeis a 322-acre lake with the northern half in Douglas, MA and the southern half in Burrillville, RI. The water is beautiful and crystal clear as there is very little aquatic vegetation. The western shore is undeveloped while the eastern shore is lined with summer cottages and year-round homes. The western shore is part of Douglas State Forest and stunning forest covered hills provide great views from the water. Fishing, boating, and swimming are all popular at this picturesque lake. There are two paved boat ramps, one at the north end off Wallum Lake Road in Douglas and the other at the southern end in Burrillville.

Norton Reservoir is a 530-acre reservoir located in the towns of both Norton and Mansfield. It is a shallow lake that features many coves and a series of small islands. This is an ideal setting for paddling because of the tranquility that the reservoir provides and the great fishing, swimming, and bird-watching. The shorelines are partially developed with residential homes and commercial buildings but they also have a beautiful display of trees and forest that make a great view. Norton Reservoir also offers kayak rentals and guided kayak tours by the Norton Kayak Company. Public access is very limited but there is access for canoes and car top boats available on the eastern side of the lake in a residential area. It is at the end of Juniper Road which branches off of Reservoir Road.

Falls Pond consists of two basins totaling 122 acres which are connected by a culvert beneath Reservoir Street. The ponds are located in the Attleboro Falls section of North Attleboro and are known as Upper Falls Pond to the north of Reservoir Street and Lower Falls Pond to the south. Access to Upper Falls Pond can be reached by Huntley Road off of Reservoir Street where there is a parking area and public beach and designated swimming area. The shoreline is heavily developed and the islands may be owned privately making access to them is not permitted. Access to the lake from Reservoir Street is prohibited.

South Watuppa Pond is part of North Watuppa Pond except for a thin strip of land, called The Narrows, on which Interstate 195 and MA Route 6 which cross to enter Fall River. These lakes form the border between Fall River and Westport. This is a large, glacially formed lake that is spring-fed and drained by the Quequechan River which flows through the center of Fall River. Although there is no public boating access to North Watuppa Pond, South Watuppa Pond has a boating ramp on the northwest side of the lake off Route 24. Most of the shore is developed with homes lining the pond and part of the shore is forested.
