Very level, easy hike along an old railroad bed to a tunnel from 1911. Pretty cool finds along the way including farm walls and original power lines. I took a short detour to the old rail bed on top of the tunnel. Definitely worth the hike.

This hike takes you around beautiful Wawayanda Lake and you can take a side trip to the secluded Laurel Pond. Weekends can be busy and they will close the park if it reaches capacity. You should call the Wawayanda State Park office at (973) 853-4462 before going on this hike. Leased dogs are permitted. The fees are higher Memorial Day through Labor Day.

You travel sandy paths through a pitch pine forest as you skirt along Cedar Swamp. Leashed dogs are permitted.

Over 6 miles of well maintained trails of packed sand and pine needles. We only did about a mile of the black trail. The trails are marked but could use a few numbered posts to help orient you to the map.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in the county system and is known for its red and white oak, beech, ash and birch trees.
