A challenging route along Hwy 14, this ski follows Road 264 up and then along the rolling hills above Shell Canyon. The views are amazing and the wildlife abundant on this out and back route. This route does require a good snow year as portions are south facing and can get a layer of crust. There is occasional snowmobile traffic.

The Blackjack loop begins at the Tie City Trailhead and is part of a ski trail system with many other options. You will use the Alder ski trail to access the Blackjack loop portion about a half mile in.

Just north of Ten Sleep is an amazing location year round, Dry Medicine Lodge Canyon. The canyon offers a change of pace from other ski trails in the state through forested areas and is located on the western slope of the Big Horn Mountains in northern Wyoming. The ski begins near the archaeological site that is home to a large sandstone cliff that displays hundreds of Native American petroglyphs and pictographs. This is a gradual climb out and then a return descent along the same route.

This route follows the old Highway 16 and is a one-way route that runs down hill. Located in the beautiful Tensleep Canyon, this is a great place ski, but can get icy in the sunny spots. Difficult because seems like every one I know who has skii'd it has taken a digger.

You can cross country ski this trail from either the upper or lower Soda Butte Bridges. The trail is usually well maintained but local conditions should always be checked, especially in avalanche country. Yellowstone ski shops will have current information and shuttle service to ski trails.

This is a winter ski route that is groomed when conditions permit. It begins at the end of the half mile campground loop near the Tie City Summer Trailhead, travels the Meadow Ski Trail, and connects with the Phil's Folly loop. There are other options and variations in this trail system, and these are among the best.

This trail is part of the 54 mile system that has been designated a non-motorized area. Although it may not have the spectacular views like the others in this trail system, it is perfect for cross country skiing in the winter or a nice walk in the summer. There are a couple of spurs off of this road that can be nice options, depending on which parts are being groomed at the time.

This trail follows the Sibley Lake Blue Creek Loop Trail as it makes a loop through the lodge pole and spruce forest just west of the lake. The route begins along Hwy 14 and is a gradual climb and then descent. Portions of the trail follow alongside Sibley Creek. This is a groomed trail and no dogs are allowed, as the trails are track set for classic skiing.

Departing from Wood River Valley Sno Park, this route is a gradual uphill climb in and then an easy downhill slide on the return. The first hill is on the route is the steepest. The scenery is beautiful as the trail follows along Brown Creek. At the end of the groomed trail, there is access to backcountry skiing.

This is a beautiful ski on the groomed Cutler Nordic Trails located right off of Hwy 14. This route first follows the Dog Collar Loop Trail, a gradual climb through a dense forest with rolling hills and then a fun descent. The Cutler Nordic Trails are popular, but never crowded and dogs are welcome.
