The gully is a popular crag and especially during hot summer days. It holds shade most of the day with world-class routes that are challenging on very steep and smooth rock. The approach is long and requires boulder hopping and some scrambling.

Located in Joe's Valley at the left fork, this is some classic bouldering at Joe's.

Main new joes approach. Take a left at the end for nerve damage area or a right for Area 51!

This area is known as the old mine cart area. The first boulder you come to is a cave with the problem "Kill by Numbers".

Located in Joe's Valley at the left fork, the Big Joe boulder is a huge formation with a steep roof and some classic problems.

Big Bend Bouldering area was established by legends John Sherman, Dan Osman and Tom Gile. The rock is Wingate Sandstone, which can and will break. Please allow at least 24 hours after any rain to climb. The routes are known for feeling hard for their grade with some of the hardest test pieces around. You will find quality problems with a variety of difficulties offering something for everyone. There is a beautiful riverside campground across the road with excellent camping options. The Black Box is a short walk to the west from the parking lot. Look for the box shaped black boulder. The main wall faces southwest and can get extremely hot. Best climbing is in the morning or evening.
