For a moderate distance ride with fun but challenging climbs and a good amount of downhill, the South Caprock Ramble is an excellent choice for the intermediate or serious road biker. The ride begins with a steady but moderate uphill climb with an average grade in the 2 to 3% range. At about mile three begins the serious climb of almost 250 feet on a grade above 10%. From there it's quick drop-down to the River, where you'll reverse course with another serious climb followed by a payoff of three half-mile downhill cool-down.
