Cuyahoga Valley National Park offers many miles of hiking trails. There is a variety of levels from easy family strolls to more challenging hikes. Salt Run Trail is a little more challenging than most of the other trail in the park. It travels through rugged hills, meadows and forest. There is good chance to see wildlife and birds.

Morning hike around Hudson Springs Lake

This rail trail starts in Glen Dale and travels along the Ohio river to Moundsville. It is a paved easy trail recommended for elderly or young children. The Glen Dale to Moundsville Rail Trail is shaded in some spots with many park benches and work out areas.

Located in Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve, this hike begins with a steep climb to the top of the gorge where the views are excellent. It follows the rim along rock outcroppings making a loop around the interesting sandstone gorge. Birdwatching and spring wildflowers are popular.

A brisk walk on the white trail for todays track. Here there are different trail difficulty for every level. Personal recommend the more difficult trails if your fit, they have some awesome views. This is a place I love coming back to.

Beginning at Kendall Lake, this trail travels through a mix of open fields and wooded terrain. During summer the wildflowers are out and birding is also popular. Scenic. Easy to moderate

Easy hike around Kendall Lake

This long ride travels through unglaciated Ohio which means it is very hilly. It passes Tappan and Leesville Lake Parks. The terrain is full of lakes, farmland and woods. Most of the roads have light traffic but are narrow. You should plan a full day for this trip.

Located in the Oglebay Park, this trail begins at the Schrader center building. It has been made from 97 percent recycled materials, including newspapers, tires, bottles and aluminum cans. The trails are open dawn until dusk, if you plan ahead there is a chance to join one of the programmed activities from the institute. Just off the beginning of the trail is a 120 foot long elevated forest canopy walkway which is a great place to watch migrating Warblers in May. A butterfly garden with Iron gates is toward the South side of the trail as well as an interpretive station to help hikers appreciate the surroundings. The Hardwood Ridge Trail travels along a moderate downhill mulch and dirt trail through a hardwood, hemlock and rhododendrons forest. There are many side trails that lead to overlooks along the hike. At the end of the trail is an overlook of a small waterfall.
