Lucas Canyon Trail is a pleasant ride through some beautiful terrain. The trail follows a dirt road that can be rocky in some parts. There is a scenic meadow with wildflowers and good opportunity to see wildlife. This trail is shared with hikers and mountain bikers so be courteous.

Mescalero Sand Dunes are located 30 miles east of Roswell and open year-round. They have over 600 acres of sand dunes for riding and exploring. Some areas have picnic tables and sun shelters but there is no access to water or restrooms. Camping is permitted but there are no amenities. A spark arresting exhaust silencer and an NM OHV Permit is required for all vehicles. There is also a 96 decibels limit.

Located in the Benson Ridge Area, this loop has excellent scenery and a good opportunity to see wildlife. It is rocky in places and most of it is shaded. Watch for downed trees in the road and be aware this trail is also open to hikers and mountain bikers.

This trail begins at the Coyote Staging and is part of the Cedro Peak Area. There are a variety of trails available to explore in the area. The trails are open to SUVs, motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. A spark arresting exhaust silencer and an NM OHV Permit is required for all vehicles. There is also a 96 decibels limit.

This trail is part of the Benson Ridge Area trails on the Sacramento Ranger District. It follows Forest Road 5005 and is open for OHV less than or equal to 50 inches wide. Hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are also allowed so please be courteous. There are other trails that branch off along the way for more exploring.

Red Sands OHV Area is an open area with miles of sandy and hard-packed trails. The staging area is large and has enough room for trailers and even camping. There is no shade or services so come prepared. The south area is private property. A spark arresting exhaust silencer and an NM OHV Permit is required for all vehicles. There is also a 96 decibels limit.

The trail to Middle Fork Lake is a multi-use trail that follows Forest Road 487. You will ride alongside the Middle Fork River that provides a pleasant atmosphere. The road is rutted and rocky in places with a steep climb near the lake.

The Comales Trail is located in the Carson National Forest and follows a scenic trail through a wooded forest. This is a multi-use trail that is open to hiking, and mountain biking so be cautious of others recreating. An NM OHV Permit is required for all vehicles.

Old Cloudcroft Highway is a short loop that is open to vehicles 50 inches or less. The trail is hard-packed dirt with small, loose rocks. It is also open for hiking so be courteous of others. The parking is limited at the main staging area and camping is not allowed at the staging area but there are campgrounds nearby. A spark arresting exhaust silencer and an NM OHV Permit is required for all vehicles. There is also a 96 decibels limit.
