This is an outstanding bouldering area on top of a finger ridge called Pigeon Mountain. Many interesting sandstone blocks are scattered over more than 100 acres. It is a common venue for bouldering competitions, and some folks do top roping on bigger boulders.

Experienced traditional leaders are well-suited in this tall gorge. The impressive quartzite has large roofs, smooth faces, and varying cracks. There are regulations in this State Park too. It is important to register for a permit at the interpretive center. Also, no climbing permits are issued during whitewater releases so it's a good idea to call the park service for information before planning a climbing trip.

This is one of the great southeastern sandstone crags that has great traditional climbing. There is a variety of cracks in hard sandstone. Although the approach is short, it does not usually have a lot of people.

Perhaps the crown jewel of many sandstone cliffs surrounding Chattanooga, TN. It's on the west side of Lookout Mountain, which is part of the Chickamauga National Battlefield Park. Characterized by traditional crack climbing with a variety of size, diedrals, roofs, and bulges. A short walk from the small parking area above puts you on top. Continue down the trail to access the bottom of the cliff line.
