This section of the Natchez Trace Parkway travels through northwest Alabama crossing over the Tennessee River near its halfway point. The trail provides great view points and scenic vistas along the way through the rolling hills of Alabama’s countryside. Begin along the Alabama/Mississippi state line, at the parking area just off of the parkway and travel to the Alabama/Tennessee state line (shown here), or vise versa. This trail can be done as an out out-and-back day trip, or one way which is shown here. If desired, the entire route of the Natchez Trace Parkway can be linked with this portion beginning from Natchez, Mississippi traveling to Nashville, Tennessee.

This route has a large variety of scenery to offer. You will ride through industrial areas, quiet neighborhoods, beautiful coastline, and highway-like conditions. You will cross two large bridges with nice views and enjoy riding along the beach of Santa Rosa Island. Prepare to ride in the sun for the entire route. Facilities are available along the route. Take care as some areas might have heavy traffic if riding during rush hours on a week day.

This multi-use paved trail travels along the easy rolling hills bordering the stunning Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa. Begin from a pull off parking area along Ross Bridge Parkway and travel northwest as you take an easy going gradual climb to the trails end along Ross Avenue. From here make your back to the beginning traveling downhill retracing your path the opposite direction.

The Natchez Trace is a historical path that extends about from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee and links the Cumberland, Tennessee, and Mississippi Rivers. It was created and used for centuries by Native Americans and was later used by early European and American explorers, traders, and emigrants. Today, the trail is commemorated by the Natchez Trace Parkway and the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail. This route extends from the Alabama-Mississippi border to a parking area just before Kirkville. You will pass through the Tishomingo State Park and along the Trace are many points of interest. Some of these include Bear Creek Mound, Cave Spring, Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, Pharr Mounds, and Donivan Slough. The scenery is beautiful.

The Chattooga Challenge is one of the most scenic and beautiful road biking routes in North Georgia. The route is a popular one and offers a secluded ride through gorgeous valley terrains and rolling mountain foothills. The path winds through the beautiful Chattahoochee National Forest and the lovely High Point Mountain.

Travel along Alabama’s Gulf Coast viewing the white sand along the beaches as the ocean water rushes up the beach side. Begin from the west end of Beach Boulevard along Alabamas Gulf Coast and travel east to “Flora-Bama”, a beach side oyster bar and gulf coast cultural landmark. End your ride here and join the fun inside the beach side bar and enjoy the beaches, or treat this as a out and back ride (shown here).

Located along the Georgia and Alabama border following the Chattahoochee River, this multi use paved trail travels from the Columbus Riverfront Industrial Historic District Center to the Army Community Service building along Baltzell Avenue. With numerous parks along the entire route providing various starting points and activities, this trail has something to offer everyone. This trail is also known for it’s bicycle friendly communities along the route, making it a great cycling trail.

A short distance trail within Alabama’s Gulf State Park that can easily be link to other trails within the park. Begin from the parking lot at the Orange Beach Sportsplex, located just past the northern side of the park trails. Walk along the paved trail as it makes it’s way through a dense forest with wooden bridges along the way. Access to Catman Road Trail, and Gulf Oak Ridges Trail can be accessed by way of this trail. An easy trail for the whole family.

Lookout Mountain offers an excellent North Georgia ride that explores rugged geology, vistas and ridges. Lookout Mountain rises up to over 1900 feet offering a decently challenging climb. You can take a short detour to get to Cloudland Canyon State Park which offers many more adventures.

The Chattooga Cruise is one of the more scenic and beautiful road biking routes in North Georgia. The route is a popular one and offers a secluded ride through gorgeous valley terrains and rolling mountain foothills.
