This is a quiet lollipop hike with an outstanding designated campsite on a small backcountry lake. The trail is very faint and hard to follow the tracks but there are blue diamond blazes that help to keep you on track. The scenery is diverse and includes some upland forest, a wetland blooming with orchids in June, small babbling brooks, and reaches a small lake and campsite. Wildlife is abundant here with beaver, herons, wood ducks, eagles and many other critters inhabiting the area and it provides a fine backcountry camp. As you loop back on the return trip you will cross the Birch Lake Trail and join up with the Ice Age Trail.
