The Bowl and Pitcher and Devil's Toenail are convoluted and interesting basalt rock formations carved by the extremely powerful erosive forces of the Spokane River. Located in Riverside State Park, the trail drops down to a large suspension bridge with great views up and down the river to the rock shapes and rapids. The trail then curves north through a rocky area beneath some cliffs and follows the curve of the river's shore to the Devil's Toenail, another set of broken rock features with rapids. Return along the river, or via a loop trail cutting beneath the cliffs that rejoins the main trail near the bridge. A Discover Pass is required to park at the trailhead.
