Located along the Wellsville Range, Mendon Peak is the northernmost crest. The route travels up Deep Canyon. This area is seldomly visited so you may have the mountain to yourself. The trail is shaded in the lower section and then opens up into meadows of wildflowers with beautiful scenery surrounding you. Mendon Peak is known as a corridor for migrating raptors. Millions of years ago these mountains were buried under the waters of Lake Bonneville and there are marine life fossils around.
