Take this easy run on the Rio Chama, starting just below the Christ in the Desert Monastery. The rapids reach no higher than a Class III, and good water flows begin at 500 - 800 cfs. This can be run year round, but check the water gauges first, it all depends on irrigation water release dates, etc. Rafts should have no problem, as long as the water level is right. You will find the majority of the fun stuff after Skull Bridge, where you will stay to the left of the river split and enjoy the waves when it comes back together.
