The Superior Hiking Trail is over 270 miles long and follows a rocky ridgeline on Minnesota's North Shore along Lake Superior. The highlights of this trail are the forest views, Temperance River and some small waterfalls along the river. This hike climbs around 600 vertical feet over the course of just over three and a half miles. The forest that the path runs through is full of birch, aspen, pine, fir, and cedar. Be apprised that if you bring a dog it must be kept on a leash.
