Situated between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac, Mitchell State Park provides excellent opportunity for wildlife viewing along the Heritage Trail. The trail travels through wetland area that is home to a wide variety of plantlife and wildlife, especially diverse waterfowl. The woodchip and boardwalk trail is almost completely level and easy to follow making it a great option for hikers of all skill levels. The surrounding state park area also provides lots of other opportunity for outdoor recreation including picnicing, camping, fishing, and boating on the nearby lakes.
