Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Ludington State Park offers lots of recreational opportunity including hiking along its many trails. The popular Lighthouse Trail first leads through an area of dense forest and wetland terrain near an old logging area. The trail then heads west towards the beach where a picturesque and historic lighthouse is located. The hike from this point on follows the sandy beach back to the trailhead. Hikers can also take the service road which is very flat and easy to walk on but is a little less scenic.
