This tour through Charles County follows the trail of John Wilkes Booth, the man who shot President Lincoln, and visits many of the sites that were relevant to his life. You will begin at the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House Museum, visit the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Cemetery, the Trinity Episcopal Church, Zekiah Swamp, Boarman’s Manor, many farm fields of corn, soybeans, and tobacco, and finally reach the majestic Potomac River. These sites are packed with history and the scenery is stunning of the rolling hills and sweeping landscape. The roads are all paved and have very little traffic.
