If you would like, you can bring a swimming suit for a swim after your hike. This is an easy, well-marked and flat trail. You will encounter families with children and mountain bikers. You may get involved and help with the counting of the migratory birds in February or counting monarch butterflies in September. You will hike through a small woodland forest. The park is surrounded by wetlands and prairie vegetation.
