Located approximately 35 miles from downtown Chicago, Poplar Creek Forest Preserve offers miles of dirt and paved trail for outdoor recreation in a natural setting. The loop trail through Shoe Factory Roads Woods travels through scenic woodlands and prairies that surround a small retention lake and small ponds in the eastern western section of the preserve. This small loop trail also connects to multiple other trails within the preserve giving visitors the option of adding more mileage and exploring more of the area.
