McDowell Grove Forest Preserve offers a network of trails that travel through scenic and diverse terrain home to abundant wildlife and plantlife located along the DuPage River. The trails are a combination of crushed limestone, dirt, and grass loop trails that can be combined for a fun exploration of the area. The preserve consists of woodland, wetland, and prairie terrain with the Dupage River and small lakes and ponds spread along the route. The trails are multi-use and are popular for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. The preserve offers picnic areas and restrooms as well as fishing and boating along the river.
