This trail connects the towns of Charleston and Mattoon via an abandoned railroad right-of-way that travels through peaceful rural areas and farmland. The trail also passes by some parks and a golf course. Riders will enjoy viewing some plantlife and wildlife along the corridor. The trail is mostly crushed stone with some sections of asphalt and is flat and easy to follow making it a great option for riders of all skill levels. The trail can be ridden as an out-and-back route or one-way by shuttling vehicles between towns.
