This hike follows the historic I&M Canal Trail through scenic wooded areas that are home to wildlife and past historic sites along the canal. The turnaround point for this hike is Dresden Dam but the trail does continue on for many more miles if you are looking to add some mileage. There are also multiple access point along the trail allowing for a shorter route or a one-way trip by shuttling vehicles. The trail is a crushed limestone surface that is multi-use and popular for many types of outdoor recreation, especially biking, so watch out for others along the route.
