The hike starts near the Big Smoky Work Center at the end of Road 70087. The route is a rather easy hike that climbs gradually towards Paradise Peak while following Paradise Creek upstream. There is a good chance to observe wildlife in the area Including mule deer, elk, rare moose, black bears, foxes, coyotes and wolves. Be cautious of that fact that wolves are very active along the creek. The vegetation includes Douglas fir, Englemann Spruce, quaking aspen, ponderosa and lodgepole pines. The route terminates at its junction with the West Fork Big Smoky Trail #224. A wilderness permit can be obtained from a Forest Service facility.
