Located on the east bank of the Apalachicola River, Torreya State Park offers hikers an area of diverse and scenic terrain for exploration with miles of rugged hiking trails. This loop hike follows trails located in the western section of the park. There are a few spots where the trail travels near the Apalachicola providing some nice river views. There are two primitive campsites available along the trail that can be used for overnight stays in the area but they require reservations that need to be made well in advance. There are some shorter connecting trails along this main loop as well as a separate 5-mile loop trail located to the east that is can be used to customize an even longer hike in the park.
