Located on the east bank of the Apalachicola River, Torreya State Park offers hikers an area of diverse and scenic terrain for exploration with miles of rugged hiking trails. The Torreya Challenge is a loop trail located on the east half of the park that is considered to be somewhat challenging and strenuous due to multiple changes in elevation. There are primitive campsites available along the trail that can be used for overnight stays in the area but they require reservations that need to be made well in advance. The challenge loop can also connect to a 7-mile loop trail located in the western section if the park for those looking to cover more area.
