Located at the tip of Snead Island, where the Manatee River meets Tampa Bay, Emerson Point offers opportunity to explore an area known both for its interesting history and its impressive scenery. The preserve is home to a the site of a Native American temple mound that is the largest in all of southwest Florida. The preserve has a network of multi-use trails and boardwalks that showcase some of the history and scenery while still preserving the important wildlife habitats that are found there. Some of the trails are hiking only so if biking around the preserve, be aware of restrictions on a few of the trails. The preserve also offers picnic areas, a kayak launch, and wildlife viewing areas and observation towers.
