Located in the southern half of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, the Chacala Trail is a moderate, pleasant hike with nice views of the forest and wildlife. Passing through beautiful wooded areas, you will eventually reach Chacala Pond. Watch for animals such as armadillo, birds, turtles, butterflies and more. This is a multi-use trail, so beware of other traffic such as cyclists, runners, and horse riders. Campsites are available on the trail, about 2 miles from the trailhead.
