The Caldesi Island Nature Trail winds through the most beautiful parts of the state park. You will walk along the gorgeous white sands on the beach, as well as palm tree forests. You might come across armadillos, sea turtles, raccoons, and many birds. You can only access the island by boat; public ferries are available as well as a harbor for private watercraft. Pets are not allowed on the public ferries. The island can be crowded on summer weekends. Swimming is allowed.
