Upper South Fork Mineral Fork is a short but thrilling canyoneering adventure. It is for experienced experts only. The water is big and the route should only be attempted when the water is 50 cfs or less. Rocks in this canyon are slippery and covered with algae so be cautious. There are 60 rappels with the highest being 70 ft. Some of the rappels are jumpable with some scouting for safety. Plan on lots of swimming and getting soaked during rappels. Bring rappelling and anchor gear, 70 ft. of webbing, 6 quicklinks, wetsuit and a lifejacket.
