Uncompaghre Peak is the 6th highest mountain in Colorado and is among the 14ers. This is an easy route and the most popular so expect a lot of people during the summer months of hiking. The road to the trailhead up Nellie Creek requires a 4WD to get to. The trail is well maintained and easy to follow. The trail along the summit ridge climbs along amazing steep cliffs that drop straight down. Uncompaghre has a very unique shape and is a fun peak to bag.
