Silver Basin is located in the mountain of Uncompahgre National Forest. It offers spectacular views, wildflowers, alpine lakes, mines, and waterfalls. There are some sections of rocks and loose dirt and the trail is narrow most of the way but pull-off areas are available. It is suitable for stock SUVs. The trail ends in a large basin of boulders and sometimes a lake depending on the time of year you visit.
