Montgomery Pass is located inside the Colorado State Forest. It is suitable for stock SUVs with good clearance and 4WD. It is steep climbing on loose rock. To reach the actual pass there is a 2-mile hike. The trail is open to SUVs, ATVs, UTVs, horses, and mountain bikes so be cautious of others recreating. During wet conditions, the trail will be more difficult and possibly impassable.
