Little Muddy Creek has a variety of terrain and begins on an easy dirt road. It can be started from either trailhead but if you plan on doing the entire trail most of the obstacles are in the middle of the trail. It lives up to its name and has several large mud pits and some rutty climbs that are challenging when wet. Most of the mud pits have bypasses, but some of the bypasses are just as muddy and difficult. Dispersed camping is found along the route.
