The trail to Hancock Lake begins at the old townsite of Hancock. It heads south into the Chalk Creek Pass Valley. The road is easy with a few small hill climbs and rocky sections. The Continental Divide hiking trail follows this route for a bit so keep a cautious watch for them. You’ll need a stock SUV with high clearance.
