This section of the Dolores River is free-flowing and travels through a scenic high-mountain setting. It offers fun waves and good whitewater that is pretty straightforward without any real technical rapids. During high water the flows are very quick and make swimming or rescuing tricky. There are plenty of roadside access for easy scouting and pullouts/takeouts.
