This loop ride passes through rugged, historic, and scenic landscape of the Inyo Mountains Wilderness in eastern California. The route climbs almost 5700 feet in elevation and offers some great views along the way. The trip is moderate in difficulty and features steep, narrow, and rocky passage that is prone to washouts and rock slides. The route is passable for high-clearance stock SUVs being operated by intermediate to experienced drivers. Green sticker vehicles that want to ride thewhole duration of the route will need to do a short 3-mile shuttle to avoid the pavement on Highway 136.
