This 27-mile section of off-roading trail starts from Downieville and leads to two historic gold mining towns and offers some amazing scenery of the surrounding Plumas National Forest. The ride is mostly moderate in difficulty but does feature one steep rocky climb on narrow road between Poker Flat and Howland Flat. The ride is recommended for high-clearance 4x4 vehicles with skid plates. The trail is open to street-legal SUVs as well as green-sticker vehicles.
