Maytag Run is the most commonly done run out of the several whitewater runs that the North Fork of the Yuba River has to offer thrill seekers. This section of the river winds through a forested canyon, offering several scenic views. The rapids on this run provide a nice warm up. The river begins with Class II to III rapids then eventually Class III and IV and finishes with the Maytag Rapid, a Class V- that drops you into a deep hole at mile 6.
