North County Inland Ride leaves the busy coastal streets of San Diego and heads inland as it follows quieter back roads that wind along rolling hillsides with views of the surrounding foothills. As the route begins to loop back to the coast, it avoids traffic and follows the San Luis Rey River Bike Trail. The heaviest of traffic is by the coast between South Pacifica Street, where the bike path ends, and Palomar Airport Road.
