At the edge of the California's central valley stands a prominent peak, Mount Diablo. This ride follows back roads through small towns, grasslands, and wooded canyons as they circle around the mountain before reaching the windy road which leads to the summit; Mount Diablo Scenic Boulevard. At the end of the scenic drive, you'll find panoramic views stretching as far as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Farallon Islands, and the high sierras. There are no fees for bikes to enter Mount Diablo State Park. Snow may be present at higher elevations during spring; check with the park for the most up to date weather conditions.
