Mitchell Peak Trail steadily ascends through a mixed forest of pines before reaching the exposed granite summit of Mitchell Peak. There are spectacular views of the peaks that comprise both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks to the south and west. The trail passes Sequoia High Sierra Camp at under a mile; the facilities here are not open to the public.
