If you are looking to road bike in LA, but want to avoid the busy streets, this is it. LARIO Bikeway is a paved two-way trail that avoids travel on street; the one exception is a short 0.3 mile travel at mile 22 along the San Gabriel Boulevard. The trail follows the LA River and the Rio Hondo from Long Beach to Peck Lake Park and connects the LA River Bikeway to the Rio Hondo Bikeway. There are several parking areas near the trail if you would like to make the ride shorter.
