From Folsom to Auburn, this looped ride follows a mix of busy highway roads with wide shoulders and less traveled narrower country roads that loop around Folsom Lake; the first section of the ride bypasses local traffic and follows the American River Bike Trail. The route passes through neighboring communities between Folsom and Auburn and well spaced out farm houses along the country roads east of Folsom Lake. The ride consists of multiple steep climbs and rolling hills. Be sure to check out the historic downtown of Folsom and the antique shops that line Sutter Street. There are no markets or stores between Pilot Hill and Folsom.
