This scenic ride begins from Highway 4 and climbs quickly through Stanislaus National Forest to a high ridge overlooking the Bear Valley Ski Area and Mokelumne Wilderness. The ride is rated as easy with no major obstacles. The route features some rocky and rutted sections of road as well as some narrow and steep segments. The road is passable for most stock 4x4 SUVs with high clearance. OHVs are not permitted past Cabbage Patch Road near the end of the ride but street legal vehicles can continue on just a short distance further to Highway 4.
