This scenic route starts from Highway 80 northeast of Coyote Wells and travels almost 10 miles to the top of Carrizo Mountain. Along the way, drivers and riders will get to enjoy scenery of the Painted Gorge and 360-degree views from the top of the mountain. Part of the route follows narrow shelf dirt road and there are also some sections of loose rock and soft sand. The trail is rated as moderate-to-difficult and high-clearance 4WD vehicles are recommended.
