Starting from Wingate Road, this scenic desert route climbs up through South Park Canyon and leads to the historic mining camp. The route is rated as difficult due to very narrow and rocky trail that may be impassable depending on recent storms. The trail is not recommended for stock SUVs and should only be attempted by experienced drivers. The route after Briggs Camp should not be attempted by full size vehicles and green-sticker vehicles will have to turn back once they hit the boundary for Death Valley National Park.
