The Stansbury Park Reservoir Polar Bear Plunge is the longest running in the state of Utah. The event began in 2014 and has increased in size with hundreds of participants making the icy jump each year. Tooele Firefighters cut a hole into the frozen lake and remain on site throughout the event. Since 2017 they have brought a "Hazard Truck" offering jumpers a warm shower after completing the frigid dive. The Polar Bear Plunge is for the benefit of New Life Christian Fellowship. Participants donate clothing, canned foods/goods, and money. In 2019 Event Sponsors agreed to donate $30 per participant. It is a great party, whether you're jumping in the lake or just watching. There is music, hot cocoa, and lots of laughs.Location: Stansbury Lake (at the Dock behind the Clubhouse)Date: January 1stTime: High Noon (12pm)
